Toolmaker Supervisor

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base Facilities and Major Range and Test Facilities Base, NDAA 1125 (a) and (c). to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serve as the technical and administrative supervisor over the Machine Shop Branch, exercising full supervisory responsibility over work operations.

Plan weekly and monthly work schedules and sequence of operations for subordinates.

Determine how many assignments can be done concurrently, which ones must be delayed, and the number and types of employees needed, considering skills, personnel, materials, and equipment available and required.

Explain work requirements, methods, and procedures; instructs subordinates in new procedures; and provides advice when problems arise.

Adjust plans, assignments, and methods as necessary to accomplish the work as effectively and economically as feasible. Determines equipment, supplies, and maintenance required.
