PARAMEDIC

• Responsibilities
• Respond to emergency calls and provide advanced life support within scope of practice
• Assess, triage, stabilise and manage acutely ill and injured patients
• Administer medications and interventions per protocol
• Safely transport and hand over patients to receiving facilities with clear documentation
• Check, maintain and restock the ambulance and emergency equipment
• Maintain accurate patient-care records
• Adhere to clinical protocols, safety and infection-control standards
• Requirements

Qualification in Emergency Medical Care / Paramedicine from a recognised institution.

Current registration with the Botswana Health Professions Council (BHPC).

Valid driver’s licence.

• Registration at the appropriate emergency-care level
• Proven pre-hospital emergency-care experience
• Advanced life-support certification (desirable)
• Experience in inter-facility critical-care transport (desirable)
