Job Description
- Responsibilities
- Assess, triage, resuscitate and manage emergency and acutely ill or injured patients
- Order and interpret investigations and initiate appropriate treatment
- Perform emergency procedures within scope of competence
- Admit, refer or discharge patients with clear documentation and handover
- Liaise with specialists, wards, theatre and ambulance services
- Participate in continuous quality improvement, morbidity review and clinical audit
- Adhere to hospital clinical protocols and JCI-aligned standards
- Requirements
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS/MBChB) or equivalent from a recognised institution
- Current registration with the Botswana Health Professions Council (BHPC)
- Completed internship and any required community service
- Current ACLS/ATLS certification or willingness to obtain
- Experience in emergency medicine or acute care (desirable)
- Additional qualification or training in emergency medicine (desirable)
