HEALTHCARE AUXILIARY — DAY HOSPITAL (BOTSWANA)

• Responsibilities
• Assist patients with hygiene, feeding, mobility, toileting and comfort under nursing direction
• Make up recovery/treatment areas, tidy bed spaces and ensure areas are clean and stocked
• Theatre / CSSD: assist with receiving, cleaning and packing of instruments and turnaround under supervision
• Take and record basic observations (e.g. temperature, pulse) as delegated
• Support admissions, discharges and transfers
• A&E / OPD: assist with patient handling, chaperoning and stocking of the department
• Help with safe patient positioning, transfers and handling
• Requirements

Certificate in Nursing Auxiliary / Healthcare Assistant or equivalent from a recognised institution.

• Basic patient-care training or experience
• Ability to follow clinical instructions and work in a team
• Experience in a hospital or care setting (desirable)
• First-aid or basic life-support training (desirable)
