TRAINING SPECIALIST (JOINT CONCEPTS)

About the Position: You will serve as the lead USSOUTHCOM planner for joint concept coordination across the combatant command and integration of joint concepts into USSOUTHCOM operations, activities, and investments (OAIs). This position is located within the USSOUTHCOM Exercises and Coalition Affairs Directorate, in the Training and Exercises Division.

Lead command efforts in joint concept development, testing, and doctrinal updates, providing expert briefings to 3- and 4-star senior leaders. Align the Joint Training Program with Joint Staff guidance and commander priorities, revising the Joint Mission Essential Task List (JMETL). Conduct research and design rigorous validation assessments to determine the training and cost-effectiveness of new instructional systems. Coordinate the Lessons Learned Program and facilitate critical after-action reviews (AARs) for command exercises and operational activities. Provide authoritative policy and procedural guidance on emerging joint warfighting concepts and technologies to components and external agencies.
