PHYSICAL SCIENCE TECHNICIAN

This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. You will conduct air, water, and surface radiation surveys in shipyard areas.

You will check out deviations from normal or anticipated radiation levels.

You will implement radiological control (RADCON) procedures related to the storage, local transportation, and treatment of small volumes of nuclear waste.

You will monitor the storage and transportation of contaminated equipment.

You will identify conditions which affect the determination of actions necessary to contain and control radiation.

You will ensure adherence to RADCON requirements.

You will recommend changes to work plans and trades procedures to improve radiological controls, correct deficiencies, increase efficiency, minimize exposure and prevent incidents.
