Job Description
About the Position: This position is located at Portsmouth Naval Medical Center under the Outpatient Pharmacy Department. Performing a variety of technical support functions in a pharmacy. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
Process medication orders. Perform substantial bulk compounding, including complex products. Prepare, store, and issue sterile and non-sterile drug preparations following established guidelines. Perform technical functions with computer-based systems. Assist Pharmacist in the drug utilization, quality assurance, and improvement activities. Provide guidance or assists less experienced medical personnel.
