PAINTER

You will serve as a PAINTER in the Preservation Shop (Code 970), Production Resources Department Manager (Code 901), Production Resources Department (Code 900), of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

You will troubleshoot to prevent loss of product with short duration curing times.

You will use pumps and spray equipment such as conventional, airless, air assisted airless, high volume low pressure, electrostatic, electrostatic powder, and plasma powder application.

You will read, interpret and correctly follow complex written instructions, drawings, specifications, engineering standards, and manufactures' requirements.

You will plan, organize, coordinate and implement numerous quality-related issues and elements as they relate to the requirements and documentation of critical coated areas.

You will blast and produce a surface profile ready for coating and build up, fair, shape and level using a variety of knifing and troweling compounds.
