MECHANICAL ENGINEER

You will serve as a MECHANICAL ENGINEER in the Surface Ship Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Branch (Code 262), of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

You will provide technical guidance for preparation of lists of drawings required to execute complex projects.

Provide technical guidance for and prepares procedures for conducting tests on various mechanical equipment and systems.

You will serve as a technical consultant for acceptable substitutes for materials which are not available.

You will prepare and perform review of all drawings, material specifications, test procedures, and other documents pertaining to the project to which he is assigned, for technical adequacy and compliance with specifications and quality requirements.

You will perform engineering analysis and calculations associated with project designs.

You will coordinate the efforts on design projects with personnel from other design codes or from other activities when a satisfactory conclusion is dependent upon the performance of several cognizant activities.
