Materials Handler

About the Position: The incumbent will be assigned to the 406th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Supply and Services Division, at Fort Belvoir, VA.

Assembles items according to instructions to properly prepare for shipping.

Issues delivery documentation to customers and depots.

Process documents utilizing automated systems such as GCSS-Army Warehouse.

Supply to verify the quantity and condition code of items.

Lays out storage space and establish item and material locations in accordance with stated regulations.

Verifies incoming shipments against shipping/packing documents to ensure accuracy.

Segregates items according to condition code to issue or movement.

Completes documentation requirements for items received and shipped.

Notes discrepancies, quantity, prices and may key punch update of information into computer.

Operates material handling equipment (forklifts) to move material.

Follows safety regulations to ensure motor vehicle is not loaded beyond rated capacity.
