About the Position: Serves as a Technical Economic Specialist responsible for the initiation, formulation, planning, execution, and control of economic and financial activities for Civil Works projects for flood control, navigation, beach erosion, ecosystem restoration, recreation, and water supply. Sits on District Technical Review Team conducting reviews of Planning reports and is responsible for adherence to Economic and Environmental Principles and Guidelines for Water Resources Studies.

Provide advice and assistance to staff regarding preparation of reports relative to the planning and development of civil works studies.

Plan, direct, coordinate and review economic, socio-economic analysis, and other special studies of existing and proposed civil works projects.

Review and/or prepare, economic models, analytical reports of findings, including interpretations, conclusions and recommendations.

Help determine appropriate economic models and procedures to analyze National Economic Development benefits and costs and for compliance with policy for the Corps civil works decision documents.

Provide advice on the appropriate level of detail for economic modeling and analysis using best professional judgment and experience to help direct studies under the new civil works planning process.
