Biological Science Laboratory Technician

About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency, located at Tripler Army Medical Center, Directorate of Education, Training & Research, Department of Clinical Investigation, Research Pharmacy, Honolulu, Hawaii. Tripler Army Medical Center is a tobacco-free workplace. Tobacco products include, but are not limited to, smoking, smokeless tobacco, and electronic nicotine delivery devices.

Obtain, process and inventory all specimens from research subjects, in vitro cell models and animal models. Ensure all data is accurately identified for computer accessing of research subject assay results and properly categorized experimental groups, research subjects assay results. Perform hormone ELISA and blood chemistry assays, biochemical and molecular biological assays, quantitative real-time PCR, flow cytometry, and genome sequencing and supervise the proper storage and processing of all specimen. Responsible for performing special assays, processing human and animal specimens for generating publishable validated data to contribute to scientific peer-reviewed journals and training of GME residents. Maintain clear and accurate laboratory records and report abnormal lab results to professional investigators for interpretation and comparison of results in scientific articles.
