As an Associate Center Director, you will represent the Service Center/USCIS in conferences and meetings concerning program functions that establish guidance, procedures, decisions, and resource allocation which impact program operations..

Evaluate the effectiveness of programs, procedures, and resource utilization to include making recommendations to leadership for long-term planning, risk mitigation, and enhanced mission accomplishment. Facilitate the life-cycle of the assigned program area including adjudicative and production throughput, quality assurance, resource and budget stewardship, workforce planning, and the achievement of established performance metrics. Plan, assign, and evaluate the work of subordinate staff to include providing guidance, counseling, and direction on both technical and administrative matters to ensure team effectiveness and accountability. Develop, draft, and disseminate a variety of internal and external communications products, including situation reports, status updates, executive briefings, and strategic assessments to inform leadership and stakeholders. Advise leadership and staff on communications strategies, messaging development, and public implications of agency programs and initiatives. Participate in policy formulation and reviews liaison activities for directorate and agency-wide programs.

Residency Requirement: There is a residency requirement for all applicants not currently employed by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. This residency requirement states that candidates must have, for three of the last five years immediately prior to applying for this position; (1) resided in the United States; OR (2) worked for the United States Government as an employee overseas in a Federal or Military capacity, OR (3) been a dependent of a U.S. Federal or Military employee serving overseas. Supervisory/Managerial Probationary Period: You may be required to serve a twelve-month probationary period upon appointment to this position. You may also be required to complete an appropriate supervisory training course within one year of assignment to this position.
