Advanced Practice Nurse (Nurse Practitioner - Clinical/Psychiatric)

About the Position: This position is located at Irwin Army Community Hospital, Fort Riley, Kansas. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Perform the full range of advanced practice nursing care, treating beneficiaries of all ages who are requesting mental health services. Conduct psychiatric intakes and evaluations, prescribe medications, and formulate comprehensive care plans as part of an integrated treatment team. Provide comprehensive nursing care for psychiatric patients, closely observing, evaluating, and recording significant behaviors and reactions. Monitor and manage medication efficacy and side effects, maintaining precise records within a computerized system. Collaborate with primary care and other providers to manage referrals, provide feedback, and advise leadership on soldier well-being. Present patient cases for clinical conferences and serves as a preceptor and role model for students and other healthcare professionals.
